I found today's guest Jessica Ciencin Henriquez through previous guest writer Kayleen Schafer. I took one of her writing classes this past winter and got to know her while I was her student. I really admire the way she moved through the world and knew I wanted to invite her on the podcast. She has a very creative, confident, and nurturing quality about her and is a very magnetic person. Her calm confidence is contagious and it makes me want to be around her.Jessica's personal essays and narrative journalism have appeared in the New York Times’ Modern Love column, Self Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Teen Vogue and Time Magazine among many others. She is the author of the forthcoming memoir: If You Loved Me You Would Know.In this conversation, I try to squeeze out every last ounce of wisdom and creative inspiration I could from her. We talked about where she got her confidence (she was homeschooled), the nurturing habits and boundaries she lives by, how motherhood changed her into a more productive writer, her experience with heartbreak and change, including co-parenting and divorce, her year of celibacy, how mediation helped decrease her anxiety, her writing and editing tips, practicing patience and non-attachment, and how to find your value within yourself rather than externally. She's been such an impactful person in my life these past 6 months and I'm excited to share some of the insights I've gained from her with you too!

This week’s episode is sponsored by Ned. Ned offers wonderful hemp products made from organic materials in small batches to help with anxiety and insomnia relief, natural pain relief, as an anti-inflammatory, and so much more . I have tried so many CBD products but Ned is one of the best! They extract their oils from hemp flowers using a slow and mindful process, and infuse each batch with binaural beats and happy loving energy. I love that on their dosage instructions on the bottle it reminds me to take 3 deep breaths before using. It’s such a grounding process and I’m so excited to share their wonderful products with Let It Out Listeners.

Listen - my skin is really sensitive so I don't try out a lot of products, but I've been using Bioclarity for YEARS and I'm really excited they're sponsoring the podcast. They're a clean, green, skin care company that is cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, and have no artificial fragrances. It's helped me a lot with the hyper pigmentation from acne scars. I use their clear skin routine for combination/oily breakout prone skin. They have other skin care regiments but that's the one that I use right now. It comes with everything you need to make your skin look great. It's not overly drying, it helps with redness and events out my skin tone. It's a 3 step process cleanse, treat and restore. I used their spot treatment for a pimple I had the other day but when I woke up the next day and it was gone. I honestly love this stuff and I hope you guys give it a try because they're offering Let It Out listeners a really good deal.
