Anjie Cho Moves My Furniture & Makes It All Better

Episode Summary

In lieu of an interview, this week is a very personal session I had with Anjie Cho. Recorded in person in my apartment, Anjie, an architect, interior designer, and feng shui consultant gives me a consultation of my space. It’s a loose conversation between old friends where I tell her about where I'm at with everything from dating to money. Sessions always start with the question: what are your three wishes for your life? The wishes become a jumping-off point to find adjustments in the nine different home areas which in my case were mostly related to increasing my assertiveness, connection, defined relationships, and creativity.

Episode Notes

In lieu of an interview, this episode is a recording of a session I had with interior designer, architect, author, and feng shui consultant, Anjie Cho. Recorded in person at my apartment, Anjie gives me a typical feng shui and design consultation as if I were a new client.

Sessions always start with the question: what are your three wishes for your life? The wishes become a jumping-off point to find interior adjustments in the nine different home areas, which in my case were mostly related to increasing my assertiveness, connection, defined relationships, and creativity.

You’ll hear what a session is like as well get some general interior insights from her you can use, but most of all you’ll hear a loose (too?) personal conversation between two old friends. Through answering her consult questions, I end up telling her everything that’s up in the air in my little weird life from dating to money…which I almost cut out but left it all in and hope at least one of you finds it entertaining. But mostly for context for the gentle, sweet, and spot-on advice she gives like only a friend who has known you for 10 years can. Then we move all of my furniture which honestly made me feel way better.

This is Anjie’s 4th appearance on this podcast—since 2014 she’s advised me on each apartments I’ve lived in two in Michigan, two in New York, and now this one in LA.  We tell how we met through our dear @stiggly and she tells how she got into design through her love of art and portrait photography. Since 1999, she has been designing spaces informed by the ancient practice of feng shui and tailored to each individual’s needs, which you’ll get a taste of in this. She’s been featured everywhere from the New York Times to Domino Magazine; she’s a New York State registered architect, co-founder of the Mindful Design Feng Shui School, and author of the book Holistic Spaces and the forthcoming Mindful Homes, which we should all preorder a hard copy of, it is useful.

Let us know if you listened to this… AND if you have any interior design or feng shui questions about your space, leave them here and Anjie will be taking over this account soon to answer in the comments of this post on Instagram and Anjie and I will answer if we can! : )
