Episode Summary

Jacob Maren is the creator or the literary magazine: one word which is a collection of works from notable creative writers—about their personal interpretation of one word. I met Jacob through his mom, who happens to be one of my favorite writers , Dani Shapiro. In this episode we talk about what it was like to grow up with two creative people and writers as parents, how he developed his literary taste, differences generationally especially with social media. We bond over our only childness and love of bookstores. We get into the in between space of making art and living life, touch on anxiety, and he recommends a bunch of art.
